On September 5, 2026, we had the incredible experience of driving the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road through Glacier National Park in Montana. It was more than just a scenic drive—it was a journey through some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery we had ever seen.
As we traveled along the winding road, the landscape seemed to change around every curve. We passed through thick evergreen forests, alongside rushing streams and waterfalls, and into wide-open mountain landscapes surrounded by towering peaks. The higher we climbed, the more dramatic the views became. At times, the road hugged the mountainside, with steep cliffs rising above us and spectacular valleys stretching far below.
Reaching Logan Pass, at 6,646 feet, was one of the highlights of the drive. Standing high in the mountains and looking out across Glacier’s rugged landscape made us appreciate just how incredible this place is. The combination of mountains, glaciers, valleys, and endless skies made every stop along the way feel like another picture-perfect moment.
The Going-to-the-Sun Road is an impressive accomplishment in itself. Completed in 1932, the historic road crosses the Continental Divide and stretches approximately 50 miles across the heart of Glacier National Park. But for us, its history was only part of what made the journey special. It was the feeling of being surrounded by such immense natural beauty and having the opportunity to experience it together.
Our drive on September 5, 2026, is a memory we will always treasure—a day spent winding our way through the mountains, stopping to take in the views, and experiencing the incredible beauty of Glacier National Park from the road.
