Give Your Whole Life to Jesus | Let Him Guide You (Christian Hymn)

Give Your Whole Life to Jesus (original title: Give Jesus Power in Your Life) is a hymn written by Marie Johansen and published in 1929, now found in Ways of the Lord. It is a call to give Jesus full authority over our lives and let Him lead us in our thoughts, choices and actions. The hymn points to Jesus as the One who has opened the way for us to follow Him. Drawing on Hebrews 10:19–20, it speaks of the new and living way that Jesus opened and calls us to follow in His footsteps, giving ourselves completely to God. Giving Jesus power in our lives means more than believing in Him in words. It means surrendering our own will, taking up our cross, and following Him in the choices of everyday life. The hymn speaks about entering the covenant and striving against sin unto blood — against every enemy that rises in our own flesh. Through His Word, God gives the victory, so that we can overcome as Jesus overcame. It also points to the fruit of letting Jesus lead: rest, joy, and peace. Through God's Word, we learn to recognize what must be put to death in our lives so that the life of Jesus can increasingly be seen in us. → Read the full lyrics and song information: https://app.hiddentreasures.org/en/so... → Explore the biblical meaning behind this hymn: https://sanctification.org/2026/10/09...
