I was the Chief Petrophysicist at Canadian Natural Resources, Premier Oil and then Harbour Energy, where I managed a team of 9 Petrophysicists, and was responsible for petrophysical quality and integrated assurance across the company's global assets (UK North Sea, Norway, Mexico, Indonesia & Vietnam).
I thoroughly enjoy Petrophysics and find that my enthusiasm for the subject helps me to communicate petrophysical issues effectively to a wide range of audience. Now that I have retired from full-time work, I thought I'd continue this mission via YouTube.
Clearly, I'm not looking to go mega-viral with these videos, I recognise that they may seem to be a bit niche, however I trust that there will be a science-curious/technical audience out there - who may appreciate alternative views and new ways of presenting subsurface geo-technical material (even if us oil industry folk are less popular these days.....the Science involved is often very interesting, and we still have a good contribution to make in helping develop a greener future!).
