West Somerset Railway Autumn Steam Gala October 2025

The very welcome return of the WSR's Autumn Steam event after a four year absence. The gala brought ex Port Talbot Railway 0-6-0ST No 26/GWR No 813/NCB No 11 from the Severn Valley and 1893 vintage LSWR T3 4-4-0 No 563 from Swanage. The highlight for many visitors though was Locomotive Services Ltd's GWR "Castle" 5029 NUNNEY CASTLE, which had spent the summer based at Bishops Lydeard for main line charter work. The home fleet provided BR "Manor" 7828 ODNEY MANOR and WSR 2-6-0 9351. With ERLESTOKE MANOR sidelined for repairs, the final spot in the roster was filled by Class 33 diesel D6575.
