The Aradena gorge! Crete, Greece. 2024

So this is how NOT to hike the Aradena gorge! Although this was still an enjoyable day, it was easily the hardest hike that I endured on Crete and probably the hardest hike I have ever done. With no plans how I was going to get back up the gorge, I headed down, which was a challenge in itself, climbing over rocks, boulders, and down high metal ladders! After only an hour at the beach, I had to head back up the gorge, racing against the setting sun all the way back up! Battling the approaching darkness every step, back to the safety of the car! Then a 2 hour drive back to Rethymno!
