The Plaza Record Company had a large stable of record labels that they manufactured, including Banner, Domino Jewel, Regal and Oriole. They had client labels that they made records for including Sears (Challenge, Conqueror) Chicago Record Company (Homestead), National Music Lovers, and the Carl Henry Company (New Phonic). With so many labels being produced it is not surprising that they would use a multitude of pseudonyms to hide the identities of some of the bands that they recorded, including their own house band. The Dixie Jazz Band was an all encompassing pseudonym. It covered the identities of many bands including, Joe Candullo, Jack Pettis, California Ramblers, CFred Hall among others. For this record it hides Perry's Hot Dogs. Pianist William Perry had a recording band that made some sides for Plaza from 1924 to 1927. Some hot sides by the band were issued under the Perry's Hot Dogs name, which in turn became a pseudonym for other bands like Nathan Glantz, Ben Selvin.
Recorded at Plaza's 16th Street studio in New York on September 25, 1925.
