Standing in a field, a woman closes her eyes and travels back to where it all began. As a child, she witnesses her father, Andoy’s, daily battle against the mountain cold and the crushing weight of poverty. She remembers his shame of being forced to beg a fellow tenant for a ganta of rice to feed his growing family with the pregnant Reyna, only to be belittled before trucks he had simply dreamed of. That night, as the girl plays with her farm animal toys, she overhears her parents’ crossroads: the city or the mountain’s soil. Andoy chooses the land out of service to it. Inspired by his daughter's toys, he pivots into livestock, slowly earning the community’s trust, then the position of barangay official in the process. His persistence eventually meets a life-changing DAR Emancipation Patent title, turning his labor into a legacy. Decades of hard work and DAR’s continuous support transform their shack into a home of abundance, with a truck they now own. When a struggling tenant seeks their help for a sick father, Reyna hesitates, protecting their hard-earned security. But Andoy—remembering the sting of shame—chooses grace. He provides the funds and even a full sack of rice, proving that true wealth is the ability to give back. Back in the present, an aged Andoy places a hand on his daughter’s shoulder, finally passing down the land he spent thirty years winning for her.
