After a failed attempt to traverse the ridge spanning Mount Hellen and Father Dyer Peak, I returned to the Crystal Creek Basin to attempt Father Dyer via its much easier East Ridge. The ultimate goal of both hikes was to attain the summit of Crystal Peak and Complete the Colorado Centennials within the Tenmile Range.
Beginner resources:
This video is not meant to be used as a purpose guide for Fater Dyer Peak's East Ridge, rather it can be used as a general resource to get an idea of what kind of terrain you may encounter on the ridge. In this video, I don't provide adequate tips for someone new to class 3 terrain to use this video solely as a resource to climb this route. Please use the links below, these are the same resources I used when I was new to mountaineering and provide adequate information for newcomers to the mountains to climb with confidence and safety. Always enter the mountains at your own risk and remember you are ultimately responsible for your decisions. Have a great day!
