How Good Can My Cochlear Implant Get?

My enjoyment of music with a cochlear implant is getting better by the week. But, as I'd expected, it still doesn't sound as good as I remember from before my hearing declined. Why? Will it get better? Is the technology improving, or is my brain going to keep re-wiring itself? Or both?
