The Volvo BM 2254 4WD is a classic utility tractor produced between 1979 and 1981 as part of the Volvo BM 2200 series, with the 2254 designated specifically as the four-wheel-drive version of the 2250 model. Built in relatively low production numbers, it remains a notable machine among agricultural collectors and vintage machinery enthusiasts. Under the hood, it features a 3.9-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine generating around 68 horsepower, providing dependable power for mid-sized farm work, hauling, and field operations. The drive system incorporates mechanical four-wheel drive and hydrostatic power steering, giving it excellent traction and maneuverability across muddy, uneven, or snowy terrain. Transmission configurations typically include an 8-speed synchromesh gearbox or an optional 16-speed transmission featuring a two-speed power shift. Weighing approximately 3,300 kilograms, the tractor is equipped with a Category II rear three-point hitch, hydraulic wet disc brakes, independent rear power take-off options running at 540 and 1000 RPM, and the signature Volvo BM safety cab designed with heating and operator comfort in mind.
