I met soils lab manager Liz Skinner at Brookside Labs in New Bremen, Ohio. She showed me how a soil sample will be handled and processed and tested. From arrival, to drying, grinding, scooping, extracting, measuring, burning, and discarding, this is a complex and fascinating process.
