This Feels Too Real - AC in VR

I’ve spent a lot of time recently trying to improve the way Assetto Corsa VR footage looks when it’s captured for YouTube. The actual VR experience has always looked fantastic in the headset, but getting that same sense of immersion across into a flat recording has taken quite a bit of experimenting. I’ve been playing around with the VR mirror output, FOV and cropping, fisheye distortion, bloom, image softening and a few different OBS shaders to try and get away from that overly sharp “VR capture” look. I’m really happy with where the image is now... it feels much more natural and gives a far better impression of what I’m actually seeing while driving. There’s still one thing I’d love to crack though: *proper motion blur in VR.* I’ve tried the original AC motion blur, CSP Extra FX, Neck FX settings and various hidden config values, but so far I’ve never managed to get genuine speed-dependent scenery blur working through the VR render. If anyone knows a way of getting proper motion blur working in Assetto Corsa VR — particularly where the cockpit stays relatively sharp while the outside scenery gains that sense of speed — I’d genuinely love to hear how you’ve done it. For now though… this is probably the closest I’ve managed to make an Assetto Corsa VR recording feel like the experience inside the headset.
