Instead, they remained committed to prayer, the Scriptures, and the promises Jesus had given them. Then, suddenly, everything changed. A sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the room, and the Holy Spirit came upon them. They were baptized and filled with the Spirit, empowered to carry out the mission of making disciples and spreading the message of the Gospel. Some people witnessed the miraculous works of God and were drawn toward transformation, while others responded with disbelief and mockery.
