The Folk Arena 2026 - Lashkare Punjab De - Live Giddha Category)

This is Lashkare Punjab De performing at The Folk Arena 2026 on October 31, 2026 at HOTA (Home of the Arts) in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia. Representing Sydney, New South Wales, Lashkare Punjab De competed in the Live Giddha (Open Age) category, which has no age restrictions and provides an opportunity for performers of all ages to celebrate Punjabi folk traditions on stage. The Folk Arena 2026 marked the inaugural edition of this competition, bringing together talented dancers and academies from across Australia to celebrate the rich traditions of Bhangra and Giddha on the Gold Coast. Live Giddha is a celebration of Punjabi women's heritage, combining traditional boliyan, rhythmic clapping, expressive movements, and storytelling. Unlike performances set to recorded music, live Giddha challenges dancers to maintain their own rhythm, energy, and coordination throughout the performance. Every performance represents countless hours of practice, dedication, and teamwork. For Lashkare Punjab De, taking the stage was an opportunity to share their passion for Giddha while celebrating the traditions that connect Punjabi communities across generations. Seeing Punjabi folk dance continue to grow in Australia is a reminder that our cultural heritage remains strong, even thousands of miles away from Punjab. As part of the first-ever edition of The Folk Arena, Lashkare Punjab De contributed to a memorable celebration of Punjabi culture and community. 🎥 Captured and presented by Gabroo Tv — the world's largest Bhangra and Giddha video library, serving and documenting the Punjabi folk dance community since 2004.
