The Warriors Have A PSYCHO Rookie… And The NBA Wasn't Ready

The Warriors Have A PSYCHO Rookie… And The NBA Wasn't Ready Before the season, Yaxel Lendeborg received ZERO votes to win NBA Rookie of the Year. Seven games later, the Golden State Warriors rookie dropped 37 points without Stephen Curry or Draymond Green — and joined Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry in franchise history. But is this breakout actually sustainable? In this NBA INSIDE documentary, we break down how Yaxel Lendeborg went from Michigan's do-it-all connector to an unexpected offensive weapon for Steve Kerr's Golden State Warriors. From his 31-point performance against Nikola Jokic's Denver Nuggets to his incredible 37-point explosion against the LA Clippers, Lendeborg is doing things almost nobody expected from the 11th pick. But there's another side to this story. His turnovers, defensive mistakes, and inconsistent three-point shooting raise an important question: are we watching the emergence of a legitimate NBA star, or will defenses eventually figure him out? And with Cameron Boozer leading the Rookie of the Year race, the battle is only getting started. Who deserves Rookie of the Year right now — Yaxel Lendeborg or Cameron Boozer?
