Defereggenbach Waterfall Section / Schwarzach Water level: 52cm (@Hopfgarten in Defereggen-Zwenewald) White Water Class: IV-V (River App) IV-V (Rivermap App) IV (2xV) (Whiter.guide App) Length: 2,8km Date: early September 2026 Put-in: Parking: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1Tys1wTVfLydK... coord. 46.916803, 12.256686 Riverbank: https://maps.app.goo.gl/6s5XqXTgc2o5z... coord. 46.916595, 12.256458 Take-out: Parking: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XjvN6E55mCLfN... coord. 46.914157, 12.286189 Riverbank: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8RvJp1SKpXB9e... coord. 46.913767, 12.282233 (exit at the small wooden hiking bridge) Notes: The part of the section leading up to the two waterfalls is always very rocky and feels like there isn’t enough water. If the river isn’t rocky here, the waterfalls have a lot of water. Sorry, the last 200 meters to the put-out are missing on the video. It’s recommended to exit at the small wooden hiking bridge that follows immediately afterward. The next part of the run almost always has fallen trees blocking the way. It is therefore best to put-out at the bridge and walk up the slope on the left bank of the river until you reach the road. Safety Notice: The river information, assessments, and difficulty ratings shown in this video are based on personal experiences at the time of paddling. White water rivers are natural environments and can change at any time due to floods, shifting gravel bars, log jams, construction work, or other factors. Therefore, actual conditions may differ from the footage and descriptions shown. Video footage, especially when shot with wide-angle lenses, can make gradients, flow speed, distances, stoppers, holes, and other hazards appear differently than they are in reality. All information is provided without any guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Any descent is undertaken entirely at your own risk. Current conditions must be assessed independently on-site. This video is not a substitute for personal scouting or proper safety preparation. 0:00 Put-in 5:15 First Fall 5:42 Second Waterfall
