The 50 best Sega Mega Drive/Genesis games. 50 - Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island It might have some of the worst controls ever and if you play it for too long your eyes might hurt but i've always liked how different it is to other Sonic games. 49 - QuackShot Nice platformer featuring Donald Duck. 48 - Ghouls 'n Ghosts Great port of the arcade game. 47 - Mega Turrican The best Turrican game. 46 - Dick Tracy The best of many games based on the 1990 film. 45 - Earthworm Jim Unique platform/run & gun game with plenty of charm but some frustrating moments. 44 - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie Nice beat em up based on the movie. 43 - Space Harrier 2 One of the early arcade games that helped promote the console as the arcade in your home. 42 - Alien 3 Like Alien: Isolation with 16-bit graphics and far more Xenomorphs. It really captures the atmosphere and dread of the films. 41 - Streets of Rage 2 I'm a massive fan of the Streets of Rage franchise but the first time I played this I hated it. It's grown on me slightly over the years but I would still rank it as the worst Streets of Rage game. It's the Streets of Rage game I never play. I play more Streets of Rage remake. 40 - RoboCop vs The Terminator The best RoboCop vs Terminator game. 39 - Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master Fun sequel to Revenge of Shinobi but with reduced difficulty. 38 - Gaiares Fantastic Shooter with nice difficulty. 37 - Blades of Vengeance Underrated gem I always enjoy playing. 36 - Dahna: Megami Tanjō A fun hack & slash platformer not a million miles away from Golden Axe. 35 - Ecco the Dolphin Time travelling Dolphin battles aliens. 34 - Golden Axe 2 Solid sequel to the iconic original. 33 - Gunstar Heroes Fun run & gun game. Slightly overrated. 32 - El Viento Unique fast paced platformer. 31 - Mercs Great port of the arcade game. 30 - Zero Wing Easily one of the best shmups. 29 - Aladdin One of the best Disney based platformers. 28 - Super Monaco GP A port that's better than the arcade mode, largely due to the added career mode. 27 - Kid Chameleon Massive platform game with great variety and a large amount of different levels. 26 - Phantasy Star 2 One of the best RPGs ever. 25 - Rocket Knight Adventures Easily one of the greatest platfrom games on the system. 24 - Valis 3 The best Valis game on the console. 23 - Fire Shark An absolute gem of a shmup. 22 - Road Rash 2 Solid sequel now with multiplayer but reduced difficulty. 21 - Mega Man: The Wily Wars The Mega Man equivalent of Super Mario All-Stars featuring the first 3 Mega Man games from the NES. 20 - Mortal Kombat 2 One of the most iconic fighting games ever. 19 - Castlevania: The New Generation One of the greatest Castlevania games. 18 - Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament 96 The best Micro Machines game ever. Almost the same as Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament 2 but with the ability to create tracks. 17 - Contra: Hard Corps One of the best Contra games. 16 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist Fantastic port of the arcade classic. 15 - Desert Strike Unique sandbox shooter I still play regularly. I much prefer the setting of this to Jungle Strike. 14 - Sonic the Hedgehog The game that started the legendary franchise. 13 - Streets of Rage The game that started the legendary franchise. 12 - The Adventures of Batman & Robin Fast paced run & gun game with nice difficulty. More fun in 2 player. 11 - Bio-Hazard Battle The best shoot 'em up on the console. 10 - Alien Storm Unique fast paced battle against aliens. 9 - Alisia Dragoon The ultimate look after your pets game and your pets will look after you. 8 - The Revenge of Shinobi The greatest Shinobi game. 7 - Mega Bomberman I love Bomberman games and the this was the first one I ever played and it's still one of the best. An almost identical port of Bomberman 94. 6 - Phantasy Star 4 The best Phantasy Star game. 5 - Sonic 3 & Knuckles 2 games in 1 means double the length of other Sonic games. Also, introduced the specific bubbles like the fire bubble. 4 - Golden Axe When I was very young I went to my cousins house and he had Golden Axe. I was obsessed with it and it's one of the games that made me fall in love with gaming. Iconic game with iconic music which I still play regularly today. 3 - Road Rash One of the best racing games of all time which I still play often. 2 - Streets of Rage 3 Better than Streets of Rage 2 in every way.
