The heat and humidity can be brutal, and while you’re racing against the other competitors, you’re also racing against the conditions. Managing your effort, staying hydrated and keeping your body temperature under control becomes just as important as speed and fitness. For those of us who have just come back from leave, there’s an additional challenge - acclimatisation. After spending time away from the UAE heat, getting back into these hot and humid conditions can really take its toll.
