BNSF's Butte Subdivision

In northwest Nebraska and soutwest South Dakota is one of the USA’s biggest coal hauling lines, the BNSF’s Butte Subdivision. Most people know the Butte for it’s steep climb over Crawford Hill, the rest pf the subdivision is interesting in it’s own right. With landscapes ranging from wide open spaces to badlands, buttes, steep hills and even cornfields, the Butte Subdivision has plenty to offer the railroad enthusiast.
