Use Chrome 120+ on Windows/Mac, or Edge, Brave or Arc, in the profile where you use Instagram. 2. Account → Extension → Download v… saves the zip. Extract it to a permanent folder such as Documents/GramFather. 3. Copy chrome://extensions into the address bar. Turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and choose the folder with manifest.json directly inside. 4. Pin GramFather from the puzzle-piece menu. Return to the signed-in portal. Use Connect GramFather → Connect now if needed. 5. Log in to Instagram in the same profile, click Connect @handle in the popup and open the worker window. Review inbox-sync consent separately. Updates and controls: • Folder installations require manual updates until the store listing is published. The extension checks every 6 hours, on Chrome startup and on reload. Check for updates asks immediately. • Windows: download → Extract All → Browse to the existing extension folder → Replace the files in the destination → I've extracted the new files — Reload. Chrome's extension-card reload arrow also works. • Mac: double-click the zip → keep the new extracted folder in Documents → Load unpacked → choose that new folder. After the new version appears, keep the new folder; the old one is no longer needed. • If old files remain, the popup explains which version is in the folder. Reload anyway reloads those files; it does not download an update. Newer files produce “v… is unpacked and ready” and a Reload button. • Verify Up to date, You're signed in and the connected portal pill. Updates retain sign-in/settings. Download again re-downloads the package; No download yet means no release is offered. • Update required stops automated Instagram actions until a supported version is installed; reading can continue. Version numbers and dates in this recording are illustrative. • What's new shows Latest; View release history reveals older notes; Hide older releases collapses them. Install is the initial guide tab, Update is selected once installed. Troubleshooting: choose the correct manifest.json folder for missing-manifest errors; keep the extracted folder in place; use the same browser/profile for detection; enable the extension and Check again; Connect now fixes signed-out state. For older-version errors, update and reload Instagram tabs. Switch back to your own account before connecting while viewing a customer account.
