Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan is also known for its colorful and delicious apricots. July and August are months of apricot. In this vlog I am talking to my mother about her apricot trees in Burushaski Language and showing you the process of drying this fruit and preserving it for winters. My mom is very hardworking head of the family who always keep track of all sorts of domestic work at our home from crops & vegetables growing to fruit collection and preservation. I also wanted to acknowledge her dedication, service and love for us (her kids), she never looks for rewards and in-fact there's no reward to satisfy the mother's love. Fruit preservation process is a tedious job for many women of Gilgit Baltistan, formerly known as Northern Areas of Pakistan. Most of the women start their day early in the morning around 4 or 5 am and start to work on different domestic obligations they are expected to accomplish. Currently the trend is changing because there is over 80% literacy rate among the females of Gilgit Baltistan therefore they prefer to study and go for better lifestyles but still due to financial pressures and as a cultural and family legacy most of the females perform many roles including typical household physical work as village life. Comparatively the women of these villages are more talented, hardworking and resilient to the male dominated society and they successfully demonstrate their power and earn great respect in the family and society. please subscribe, like, share and comment ‪@Girihaldenvlogs‬ #girihaldenvlogs #pakistantravel #girihaldenvlogs #gilgitbaltistan
