Is Brock Purdy Better Than You Think?

Brock Purdy was the last pick in the draft, so how is he now getting mentioned with Joe Burrow as one of the best quarterbacks in the league? In this segment, Steiny and Guru dig into what makes Purdy tick and why the 49ers' offense looks like it's finally his. Steiny has a theory: Purdy's years at Iowa State, a good-but-not-great program where he had to carry the load, prepared him for the NFL better than a stacked college roster would have. Then the guys play a clip of NFL film analyst Greg Cosell. Cosell puts Purdy and Burrow at the top of the league at reading coverages and reacting after the snap, and says that's exactly the trait scouts couldn't see in college. The hosts also debate whether this offense is as loaded as when Purdy took over, with McCaffrey, Deebo, and Mike Evans all still in the mix. Topics discussed include: Brock Purdy's Iowa State career and how it shaped him Greg Cosell on Purdy and Joe Burrow's post-snap play Why Purdy was the last pick in the draft Is this 49ers offense as loaded as ever? Tom Brady, Joe Montana, and the history of late-round QBs How the 49ers defense looked against Arizona 49ers vs. Broncos preview at Levi's Stadium Do you agree with Cosell that Purdy is a top-2 QB in the league?
