Sacramento Light Rail Trains Of August 2026

As August comes to a close, its time for an monthly Sacramento Regional Transit light rail compilation video of updates throughout the system filmed on the Gold and Blue Line. (Typed Before SACRT Released The September 2026 Next Stop Addition Post) So far, no updates on when the new Dos Rios - Blue Line, and 7th & Railyards - Green Line stations officially open. The Dos Rios Station construction is physically completed BUT SACRT says they need approvals from the CPUC that they aren't able to obtain right now which is possibly the same reason the Green Linea new 7th & Railyards Station hasn't opened yet. They also I seen on an Online chat that SACRT's announcement system is at storage capacity and can't have any new station announcements added right now which is why the Gold Line S700s lack an next stop for the inbound 8th & O Station they say. It's unfortunate Dos Rios Station construction was completed ahead of time but minor approvals is delaying the opening date but currently, it's still not late yet as Sep 2026 was the original opening date anyways and anytime in Sep 2026 would be considered on time opening still for Dos Rios and 7th & Richards both. (Updated After September Next Stop SACRT Post) SACRT has made an update finally on the new Dos Rios - Blue Line and 7th & Railyards - Green Line new stations. Both the Dos Rios and 7th & Railyards Stations are planned to open at the same time in Fall 2026 likely betweenate September 2026 and early October 2026. This means the 7th & Railyards Station will be opening later than planned since it was supposed to be a July/August summertime opening of that station but the Dos Rios Station will be opening on time as September/October 2026 was its planned opening anyways even though Dos Rios construction was basically completed early back in spring, other minor approvals caused it to remain closed despite being completed early. This month, the 4th Avenue/Wayne Hultgren Station & City College Station on the Blue Line South Side have completed their platform conversation construction earlier this month which was what the late July and early August bus bridge between Broadway and Fruitridge was for. The same bus bridge returned at the end of the month briefly for grinding work at the stations with new platforms. No new Siemens S700 cars have been put in service this month but they started running nightly tests of the newer Siemens S700 cars so we will be seeing those in service soon. The next Blue Line station platform raise conversion projects will be at the 47th Ave and Fruitridge Stations in September with Fruitridge having some overhead shelter work first before platform conversions.
