A day in life, managing a handicapped dog

I wouldn’t change a thing, well if erasing cancer was an option, then yes, we would change that! We met Dodd in 2021 while he was at the New York Bully Crew. He sat there for 5 years, as a bite dog. In June 2025, the shelter feared he was dying of cancer. We to the leap and brought him home as a hospice dog, expecting a few weeks or months with him. Ends up he was just riddled with hookworms and severely depressed! Dad likes to say he “wormed” his way into our home 🤣 Sadly,this July 2026, Dodd was diagnosed with bone cancer and had to have his leg amputated. Thankfully, our oncologist gave us the clearing, Dodd should be just fine from here on out!
