A peaceful morning begins inside a stone cave beside a powerful rushing river—but this family’s day is only beginning. From a crystal-clear mountain spring to an exciting night fishing trip, every moment reveals another part of their remarkable life in the green Zagros Mountains.
Join Solat Khanoom and her four children for a 55-minute real cinematic journey beside one of the great rivers of the Zagros Mountains in Iran.
The day begins beside the riverside cave, where the family sits together near the large shore. Solat Khanoom and her oldest son Ali carefully check their handmade fishing nets in the river while their mother prepares warm tea over an open fire.
The cameraman greets Solat Khanoom and the children in Persian and brings some snacks and food for them. The family shares tea, biscuits, and food together, creating a peaceful and joyful morning beside the rushing water.
Soon, the family picks up their backpacks and carefully follows the riverside path toward a clear, cold spring about 200 meters from their shelter.
At the spring, they place a watermelon in the cold water to chill it, spread out a mat, and settle together in a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by the green Zagros Mountains. The children rest and enjoy the scenery while Ali carefully watches over his younger brothers and sister.
Meanwhile, Solat Khanoom begins the difficult work of rebuilding a pond on the spring. With a pickaxe and shovel, she works on the bottom of the pond, removing soil and stones as she prepares it for future completion.
Her goal is to continue building and completing this pond and eventually raise fish in the clear spring water.
After working hard, Solat takes a well-deserved break beside her children. The chilled watermelon is brought out, and the family gathers around the spring to share it together. Surrounded by cold mountain water, green forests, and beautiful natural scenery, they enjoy a simple family moment with gratitude for nature.
The children then happily play together while their mother continues working on the pond.
Later, the family collects some fresh spring water and continues their journey downstream. Along the river, they reach another rocky cave where Solat carefully prepares a fire.
As evening approaches, she prepares a simple meal of canned tuna and beans over the fire while the family gathers together inside the cave.
But the most exciting part of the day is still ahead.
When night falls, Solat Khanoom returns to the rushing river for night fishing. She carefully places the handmade fishing net into the water and secures it near the rocky riverside.
Then comes an unforgettable moment: the net catches two large fish, each weighing around 2 kilograms.
From a quiet morning tea beside a riverside cave to rebuilding a mountain spring pond and catching large fish at night, this is an authentic glimpse into the peaceful family life of Solat Khanoom and her four children in the green Zagros Mountains.
This video is 55 minutes long and filmed in a real cinematic documentary style.
The family speaks Lori, and this video has no subtitles because of the difficult mountain internet and signal conditions. YouTube may provide automatic text depending on availability.
Watch until the end to experience the beautiful spring, the pond-building project, the second cave, the open-fire meal, and the exciting night fishing.
