How to Paint a Glass Vase in Watercolor | Step-by-Step Tutorial

Welcome back to my YouTube channel! Today I’m going to show you how to paint transparent glass vases with watercolor. For today’s tutorial, I’m using the 2 tone Mission palette. One thing I really love about this palette is how some of the colors separate and blend beautifully on paper, creating a gorgeous granulation texture. I absolutely love this palette,it has great pigmentation, beautiful color combinations, and overall it feels very complete and versatile. As you can see, I’m starting with a very simple sketch to establish the overall composition of the painting. For the first layer, I lightly wet the paper to achieve a soft, loose watercolor effect. Then I begin with a turquoise color to build the base of the glass vases and create that transparent glass look. Once the first layer is finished, I move on to the second stage and start adding more details on dry paper. I continue using the same color to define the vases further, adding reflections, shadows, and more dimension. After that, I paint the flowers using this beautiful red color from the palette.
