Downtown Santa Cruz to Downtown Palo Alto Highway 17 & I-280 POV Drive

A little over an hour of POV driving from downtown Santa Cruz to downtown Palo Alto via Highway 17 and I-280 on a beautiful sunny day. We start on the streets of Santa Cruz before heading over the Santa Cruz Mountains on Highway 17, then continue north on I-280 toward Palo Alto. Traffic is moderate for most of the drive, with the usual mix of everyday California highway activity along the way — construction, a traffic stop, a broken-down car and a few other things happening roadside. Once we reach Palo Alto, we leave the highway behind for city streets, plenty of bicyclists and even a backhoe making its way across the road before finishing downtown. The original audio from this drive has been replaced with road ambience because I had the radio playing for most of the trip. The replacement audio is intended to provide natural driving ambience and may not correspond perfectly with every moment on screen. Otherwise, it’s a straightforward sunny drive from Santa Cruz, over the mountains and into the heart of Silicon Valley.
