Nestled on the sunny slopes of the Trient Valley in the Swiss canton of Valais, Le Trétien is a peaceful alpine hamlet known for its traditional wooden chalets, quiet atmosphere, and spectacular mountain scenery. Although home to only a small number of residents, the village has its own railway station on the famous Mont-Blanc Express, the scenic narrow-gauge railway linking Martigny (Switzerland) with Chamonix (France). The station sits slightly above the village and provides access to hiking trails through forests and alpine meadows, making Le Trétien a favorite stop for walkers exploring the Trient Valley. Nearby attractions include the dramatic Gorges du Trient, picturesque mountain landscapes, and panoramic views of the surrounding Alps. My inspiration for this trip and my visit to Le Trétien is this article in The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/travel/20... 📍 Location: Le Trétien, Trient, Valais, Switzerland 🚆 Railway: Mont-Blanc Express (Martigny – Chamonix) 🏔️ Region: Trient Valley, Canton of Valais
