Here is a chase of the LAJ 227 Job around Vernon, CA, featuring lots of horn and switching. On the first day, we see the local shoving down the "LAJ Runway" toward the Vernon Team Track on the west end of the LAJ. Making a couple switching moves over Leonis Blvd, the leading engine, BNSF 3170, sports a fouled Leslie RS3L horn, which unclogs when the horn button is pressed repeatedly, allowing the third bell to sound. We chase it back to LAJ A Yard, getting a shot of the unique miniature semaphore block indicators protecting the UP San Pedro Subdivision diamond. The next day, the 227 job is using a much more interesting set of power, with BN-painted GP50 3119 and unique GP40X 3039 trailing. The power shuffles cars around Pencco Wastewater Chemical Co. off one of the B Yard Leads, then proceeds across the river to serve World Oil Terminal by CP Riddle, right next to the San Pedro Sub.
