Shark and Roomba are pioneers in the auto-empty robot vacuum space. So I've put these robots through a grueling series of tests to find out which is the best option for your needs. The Roomba S9+ still is the best option, with its best-in-class cleaning performance. But this model is very expensive and the max power setting eats into the run time (45 mins). If the S9+ is too expensive, your next best option for carpet would be the Roomba I6+. It doesn't clean as well as the S9+, but the difference isn't significant and it's cheaper. The Shark IQ is intriguing because of its low cost and bagless system. But I feel the app is lacking in features and the navigation lacks thoroughness.
