Pyramiden is a former Soviet coal mining settlement located on the remote
Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, Norway. Once home to over 1,000 residents

abruptly abandoned in 1998, leaving behind an eerily preserved time capsule
frozen by the Arctic climate.
In this video, we explore:
✅ The history of Pyramiden as a Soviet coal town
✅ Why the settlement was suddenly abandoned
✅ Its famous statue of Lenin - the northernmost in the world
✅ What the Arctic climate has preserved (and destroyed)
📍 Location: Pyramiden, Svalbard, Norway
