My apologies for the delay in getting this video posted. It was supposed to go up over the weekend. However, the editing software that I've been using had some other ideas and completely flaked out on me. For some reason, I felt compelled to go on that Friday night. Even though it was State Fair Week, and I knew that this part of town would be gridlocked with traffic. Oh, and did I mention that there was a USC soccer game happening perhaps a hundred feet or so from where I had set up my camera. Incredibly, a really good parking space was opening up exactly where I needed it as I drove up. That was a sign. I just had a feeling about that evening's Norfolk Southern 119, formerly known as 12R south of Linwood. And it was a bag of pleasant surprises from start to finish from start to finish. A rather long bag, in fact. It started with a pair of almost class leaders (Semi-leaders?) representing both ES44AC and ES44DC. There was also plenty of fallen flag action, beginning with a green CNW P-S grain hopper that was still wearing CNW reporting marks, incredibly enough. Soon after that was a long cut of N&W/SOU/NS scrap rail cars that had been cut down from TTX autorack cars. Stick around, and you'll see a Conrail Greenville gon with a build date of April 1974, then the usual Friday long cut of empty CP/SOO/KCS grain hoppers from the local pasta factory, finishing up with a several MOW rail cars. All in all, quite a train. Come spend a few minutes with me at the Fair (well, near it) and a collegiate soccer game, as we watch an outstanding train roll by. Please click that link, enjoy the video, and share it with your railfan friends and family. Thanks for watching!
