@Badkneedroning and I parked at Hownsgill Tea Rooms and took the track down and around the caves in order to capture the magnificent Hownsgill Viaduct from ground level.
Perfect weather conditions for an early September Sunday.
The Hownsgill Viaduct is a single track bridge, built in 1857/58 to transport limestone from Stanhope to Consett. The bridge is 210 m long and stands at a maximum of 46 m high.
The line was completely closed in the early 1980's and now serves as a foot and cycle path, being part of the National Cycle Network, Route 7.
Please excuse the wobbly (jello) effect of the drone footage, which I didn't notice until after editing the footage. On closer inspection I found that the gimbal frame had a tiny fracture following a small tumble on a previous outing when hitting a branch.
Credit must go to @DJI who replaced the drone without any question after it was sent off for repair. The best customer service out there.
