White vs. Black Vampiric Ideologies in MTG

The vampires of the multiverse of Magic the Gathering are solidly Black creatures, but why is that? What can we learn by using the color pie to analyze this iconic MTG creature type. I want to then take this concept one step further and study the vampires of Innistrad and Ixalan to learn what the addition of other parts of the color pie will do to the core color of Black.
