Noor Mahal 3D Projection Mapping

The hardest surfaces to map are the ones that are already beautiful. Noor Mahal, Bahawalpur, 1872–1875. Five domes, Corinthian columns, Islamic detailing, 44,600 sq ft of facade that took three years and Rs. 1.2 million to build — with materials brought in from England and Italy for a palace the Nawab's wife left after a single night. Nothing about that geometry forgives a lazy alignment. Every dome curve, every cornice, every arch had to be tracked exactly or the whole thing reads as a video playing on a wall.
