“Going Home” In 1922, William Arms Fisher, a former student of Czech composer Antonin Dvořák composed lyrics to accompany a passage from the Largo movement of Dvořák’s 1893 “Symphony from the New World.” The tune is often assumed to be a spiritual or folk song, but it is, in fact, original to Dvořák.
