Asian Disaster Preparedness Center - ADPC organized the webinar “𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬,” the first session of the webinar series “A Decade of Localization in Practice: From Sustainable Partnerships to Locally Led Preparedness.”
The webinar drew on experiences from the Asian Preparedness Partnership, implemented across Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
❗️Participants gained practical insights into governance, coordination, and ownership mechanisms that support long-term localization, strengthen shared understanding of stakeholder roles and responsibilities, and generate lessons to inform future disaster risk management localization programming.
The webinar brought together government, civil society, private sector, regional actors, and donors to reflect on a decade of experience in advancing localization through multi-stakeholder partnerships.
Discussions explored pathways for sustaining and institutionalizing these partnerships within national disaster risk management systems, while identifying enabling factors, challenges, and trade-offs in moving beyond project-based approaches.
