Planning a trip to Andaman during the monsoon but not sure if it’s a good idea? 🌧️🏝️ We had the same question before our trip. We visited the Andaman Islands in the first week of August 2026, right in the middle of monsoon season, and in this vlog, I’m sharing our real experience -- what the trip was actually like, what we enjoyed, and whether visiting Andaman during monsoon is really worth it. We travelled with a MakeMyTrip holiday package, so I’m also sharing our experience of the trip and package along the way. If you’re planning an Andaman trip during the monsoon months, hopefully this vlog gives you a much better idea of what to expect before you book. A few details we couldn’t cover properly in the video: 🌧️ About the weather: Andaman received less rainfall this year due to El Niño, so the weather may not be exactly the same every year. Rainfall in Andaman is also quite localised -- it might be raining heavily in one place while another area is completely dry. In our experience, the showers lasted only for a few minutes at a stretch (that's the rainfall pattern in Andaman). Also, don’t rely too heavily on weather forecasts for planning Andaman. We found them inaccurate during our trip. 📶 About mobile networks: Network issues are real. We faced connectivity problems with both Airtel and Jio at different places. According to locals, BSNL tends to work better across the islands, so that’s something worth keeping in mind. Plus, most of the shops will share wifi hotspot with you in case you cannot make cash payment so you won't actually face any issues with payment but do carry some cash all the time. Overall, don’t let a scary-looking weather forecast alone decide whether you visit Andaman during monsoon. Our experience was very different from what the forecast made us expect.
