Re-pitched DIE WALKÜRE Varnay, Nordmo Løvberg, Töpper, Windgassen, Hines - Kempe - Bayreuth 17VIII60

This is presumably the only surviving broadcast from the second 1960 Ring cycle (with Varnay replacing Nilsson). It was probably by accident that the orchestra tuned slightly higher before acts 1 and 2 than normally during summer 1960. In the ideal case of a clear original 50Hz mains hum being present and identifiable it is possible to calculate the original concert pitch of a recording with the precision of 0,25 Hz (which corresponds to a deviation of the 50 Hz hum of 0,03 Hz).
