A model is just a big file of numbers. Copy the file, and you've copied the model. DEEPSEEK-MOE plans the job (one task for each of its four parts), walks in with a borrowed key card, and copies NEXT-2 in two hours. The US side locks every door after the fact, and the gap drops to two months. A Llama fork is unbothered: you can't steal what's already free. Summit Rush is an SNES-style animated series about the AI race, made entirely in code: every pixel, note and sound effect is generated, with no image or audio files. Season 3 is loosely inspired by two published scenarios from the AI Futures Project: AI 2027 (Daniel Kokotajlo, Eli Lifland, Thomas Larsen, and Romeo Dean, with Scott Alexander) and AI 2040: Plan A (Daniel Kokotajlo, Eli Lifland, Thomas Larsen, Romeo Dean, Brendan Halstead, and Ryan Greenblatt). It's a cartoon, not a forecast: no dates, no predictions, just the shape of the story. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the AI Futures Project or the scenarios' authors.
