12 Caravan Parks That Shut Down in 2026 — Here's WHY

Sixty-three powered sites, a motel and a pool, gone to make way for apartments. But Golden Beach is only the start. We walk through twelve caravan park cases, with their real years and real status, and uncover why land, councils and evictions are reshaping where Australians can stay on the big lap. Not every case is what it seems, and one answer might change how you plan your next trip. Which park on your route has a lease running out or a development sign out the front? Tell us the park and the town in the comments. Transparency note: this script is based on research of public reports, data and news. We use real photos and footage wherever possible, and some AI-generated illustrations only where no real material exists.
