The VERY BEST Songs Of Olivia Newton-John

Saying Goodbye to Olivia Newton-John with my latest Best Of Special. The British-Australian actress, songstress and actvist passed away on August 8th, after a long hard fight against cancer. Here I present to you my favorite 25 songs of this incredible talented, gifted and all around fantastic lady. She will be missed. She was born as daughter to Welshman Brinley Newton-John and his wife Irene Helene (daughter of Nobel Prize winner Max Born) in England but soon moved to Australia with her family when she was 6. When she was 14 she formed an all-girl group and became regular in Australian local radio and tv stations. In 1971 she released her first solo-album and in 1974 she represented the UK in the ESC and finished 4th (ABBA's 'Waterloo' won that year). Later she moved to the USA and recorded songs there that would become #1 hits in the country. In 1978 she starred alongside John Travolta in the film adaption of the Broadway musical Grease and her career soared to new heights. More hits followed in the 80s including the double-platinum awarded album 'Physical'. In the same year she was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She won 4 Grammy-Awards and sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide making her one of the best-selling artist of all time. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 she became an advocat for breast cancer research and other health issues. She was among others the product spokesperson for the Liv-Kit - a breast self-examination product. Unfortunately the cancer returned twice and in 2022 she succumbed to the horrible disease. Hope you enjoy my selection of the 25 songs of her I like the most. What are your favorites? Write in the comments if you like.
