Welcome to the Findlay Creek Soap Company! Today I am making Lemongrass & Calendula soap. Because lemongrass essential oil can accelerate trace, I intentionally wanted the design of this soap to be simple. I used dried calendula petals to colour the soap, as well as kaolin clay to create a rich, luxurious lather. Recipe: 42% Olive Oil 25% Coconut Oil 10% Hemp Seed Oil 10% Cocoa Butter 8% Shea Butter 5% Castor Oil I use Soap Calc to determine the amounts of oils/butter, lye and water to include in the recipe, based on the above percentages http://www.soapcalc.net/ I use EOCalc to determine the safe usage rates for essential oils in cold process soap https://www.eocalc.com/ The Lemongrass Essential Oil was purchased from New Directions Aromatics https://www.newdirectionsaromatics.ca...
