When did the DJ become the main character? Electronic music was built around the dancefloor, around sound, atmosphere and collective experience. But as the culture grew, so did the visibility of the artist. Bigger stages, festival economics and social media have increasingly pushed DJs from selectors into performers, personalities and brands. This video explores how that shift has changed the relationship between DJ and crowd, why artist ego might be a structural issue rather than an individual one, and what intimate dancefloors can teach us about presence, participation and immersion.
