NASA Just Launched a New Eye on the Universe

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has launched and is heading toward Sun–Earth Lagrange Point 2, roughly one million miles from Earth. With a mirror the same diameter as Hubble’s but a field of view at least 100 times larger, Roman is designed to survey enormous areas of the universe — studying dark matter, dark energy, distant galaxies and planets beyond our solar system.
