Can You Use Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF's) For A 50' X 30' X 6" Concrete Slab?

#insulatedconcreteforms #icf #concreteslab The homeowner used ICF's to form the base walls of this 50' x 30' x 6" concrete slab for his garage. He first formed a 16" x 8" footing and poured that, then set two rows of insulated concrete forms on top of that and poured the walls. Then he backfilled inside and out to prep the slab for us. The building code in this town requires a slab edges to be 16" thick so this was his way of staying within the code but using ICF's to do the thickened edges. I was hired to form the 6" slab on top of the forms, lay the Stego vapor barrier, wire mesh, pour and finish the concrete. At the end of the day everything worked out well. Did the homeowner save money doing his slab with insulated concrete forms? I'm not sure, but it was a lot easier for me to form the slab using 2x6's versus stacking a 2x12 and 2x6 one on top of the other. EMAIL ME - https://www.everything-about-concrete...
