Dhor Barahi Temple Tanahaun District Nepal

SantoshCasey The Dhor Barahi Temple at Dhorphirdi Village in Tanahun was established. The bells in the temple date to 1876 AD. A goddess Dhor Barahi is considered to have the power to fulfill her devotees wishes as such many animals are sacrificed . However, roosters are forbidden as sacrificial animals. Also, no sacrifice is performed during the festivals of Aunsi, Ramanavami, and Ekadashi. It is believed that this phenomenon is testament to the Goddess' power.
