[Intro]
King Leonidas stood beneath the dying light,
A prophecy whispered through the silent night.
“Your kingdom will fall, your blood will stain the ground,
And before the dawn arrives, your death shall come around.”
[Verse 1]
He marched with his soldiers, with banners held high,
A thousand cold weapons beneath a blackened sky.
The prophecy came true, the kingdom fell apart,
And Leonidas died with a sword through his heart.
His crown lay in the snow, his kingdom burned away,
His name became a legend from a long-forgotten day.
But death was not the ending that destiny had planned,
For Leonidas awakened with the soil in his hands.
[Pre-Chorus]
Born among the farmers, with no title to his name,
He learned to love the fields, untouched by war and fame.
He carried all his memories of the king he used to be,
But found a kind of peace he'd never known beneath the trees.
[Chorus]
He was born without a crown, without a throne,
And learned that simple days could feel like home.
He carried every battle buried deep inside,
But for the first time, he had nothing left to hide.
Leonidas grew older, though the sword still called,
The memories of his kingdom never truly stalled.
He joined the army, ready once again to fight,
Not knowing that his past was waiting in the night.
[Verse 2]
Years passed like shadows, and the kingdom changed,
The family of Falaste had risen and arranged.
His cousins wore the crown that once belonged to him,
While Leonidas fought where the battlefield was grim.
Then the king's own daughter saw him in the crowd,
A soldier standing silent, yet his presence spoke aloud.
She saw something in his eyes that she could not explain,
And asked her father for his hand, despite his name.
But the king refused, with a voice as cold as stone,
“A common soldier's hand shall never claim my throne.”
He ruled the city harshly, keeping every sword at war,
And every year the kingdom bled a little more.
[Pre-Chorus 2]
But she refused to leave him, she would not turn away,
And Leonidas took her hand and chose to make her stay.
He thought that love could be the shelter from the storm,
But power was already calling in another form.
[Chorus]
He returned to court, with visions of the throne,
Believing he could save the land he'd once called home.
He wanted peace for all, he wanted wars to cease,
But every step toward power took him farther from that peace.
He wanted back the kingdom, he wanted to command,
To fix the broken pieces with a ruler's steady hand.
But every crown he chased demanded something more,
And every step he took left love outside the door.
[Bridge]
His wife would call his name, but he would never stay,
He chased a distant kingdom while she slowly slipped away.
He said, “It's for the people, for their future, for their lives,”
But failed to see the person dying right before his eyes.
The man who once had hated tyranny and chains
Began to make the very choices that had caused the pain.
The more he tried to save the kingdom from its scars,
The more he looked like the ruler he had fought against in wars.
[Climax]
Then he looked upon his hands beneath the crimson sky,
And saw the blood of countless men he once had sworn to justify.
He remembered that old king, the man he vowed to hate,
And realized he'd slowly walked through that same gate.
The crown was close enough, but everything was gone,
The peace he dreamed of vanished as the years went on.
He wanted to be different, wanted to break the chain,
But became the very tyrant he had cursed by name.
[Final Chorus]
Leonidas was born twice, but failed to understand,
That peace was in the fields and not within his hands.
He traded love for glory, and his home for victory,
He lost the man he was while chasing who he'd be.
He wanted peace, but chose the sword,
He wanted love, but worshiped war.
He tried to save the world from pain,
Yet became the thing he fought again.
And when the final battle ended, nothing remained,
No crown could heal the heart that ambition had stained.
He searched for peace beneath a kingdom torn apart...
But found the cruelest enemy—
Was the king inside his heart.
[Outro]
The prophecy was true, though not the way he knew:
A king would lose his kingdom, and his soul would fall there too.
He died once as a ruler beneath the battlefield's flame...
And lived again...
Only to become the same.
