Krakow, Poland | Sunrise Walk from Market Square to Wawel Dragon & Dżok the Dog Monument ⭐

In this walking tour, we explore Kraków early in the morning, before the streets fill with tourists and the city comes to life. It's a great opportunity to see how quiet, clean, and peaceful the city can be at the start of the day. Our walk begins in the Main Market Square and follows the historic Royal Route to Wawel Hill, finishing at the famous Wawel Dragon and the Dżok Dog Monument along the Vistula River. ⛪ St. Mary's Basilica – Famous for its beautiful Gothic architecture and the hourly trumpet call, which ends suddenly to commemorate a legendary watchman. 📍 Main Market Square – The largest medieval town square in Europe and the heart of Kraków for more than 700 years. 🚶 Grodzka Street – One of the oldest streets in Kraków and part of the historic route once used by Polish kings during royal processions. ⛪ Church of Saints Peter and Paul – The first Baroque church built in Kraków, easily recognized by the twelve statues of the Apostles standing in front of the entrance. 🏘️ Kanonicza Street – Kraków's oldest street, lined with historic townhouses that have changed very little over the centuries. 🏰 Wawel Royal Castle – The former residence of Polish kings and one of the country's most important historical landmarks. 🐉 Wawel Dragon – According to local legend, a dragon once lived beneath Wawel Hill. Today, its statue breathes real fire every few minutes. 🐕 Dżok Dog Monument – A memorial to a loyal dog who waited for his owner for almost a year.
