A young woman arrived at the abandoned fairground searching for traces of her grandfather, who had once owned the park. Among his belongings, she had discovered an old admission ticket. The paper was yellowed with age. But the date printed on it was tomorrow. She entered the fairground shortly before midnight. In the distance, the carousel began to glow. Its wooden horses moved slowly beneath a canopy of faded gold. There were no riders. Then another attraction illuminated. A figure appeared behind an empty ticket booth. Shadows moved between the deserted stalls. Faces emerged behind the windows of attractions that had remained closed for decades. As the waltzes continued, the woman approached the carousel. One of its wooden horses looked familiar. Her grandfather had carved it for her when she was a child. A small ticket hung from its saddle. On it were written the words: “Your final ride has been waiting for you.” When she turned around, the entrance gates had disappeared. The musical sequence moves from antique elegance and curiosity toward increasingly uncanny chamber textures, before reaching a final movement centered on recognition, memory and the last ride. The album draws on the intimate gothic character of the selected archive recordings, combining ceremonial waltzes, antique chamber textures and darker theatrical passages. *Creative Process* This release was curated for Nocturne Symphony using recordings from the channel’s existing music archive.
